Text Box: A young girl’s smile before treatment “collapsed” or disappeared behind her canines resulting in an unsightly smile. With good treatment planning and mechanics after treatment she had a great wide smile.

Text Box: This patient had two teeth that didn't grow and are missing are missing from the upper jaw. Rather than have implants orthodontics was used to close the spaces. Teeth were reshaped to give a lovely final result.

Text Box: This patient has one tooth that didn't grow and was missing from the upper jaw. In this case a space was made for an implant at a later stage. In the interim period she wears a retainer with the missing tooth to give her a pleasing smile.

Text Box: This patient had a large “open bite” as a result of a thumb sucking habit she hadn't given up since childhood. Notice how the upper teeth are arched, distorting her smile. The teeth don't meet when she closes her mouth causing difficulty eating. After treatment the upper tooth line was horizontal and the teeth met when she closed enabling her to eat more easily. Also notice her lovely broad smile.

Text Box: After the removal of two teeth and many years of neglect, this adult patient decided to “fix up” her smile and replace the missing teeth. Unfortunately due to the movement of the teeth, where two teeth once existed, now there was only space for one wide unaesthetic tooth which would have resulted in an unpleasant smile. (A)

Text Box: A sort course of orthodontics was used to open the space to allow room for two implants with normal size crowns thus restoring the dentition to its former status and producing the best aesthetic result. Notice in the pre treatment radiograph (B) how the tooth to the left has tipped forward. In radiograph (C) with the orthodontic appliance still in place (the wire between the teeth) you can see the tooth has been “uprighted” and the space is larger.
