The procedures and materials used in aesthetic dentistry are numerous

  • Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made porcelain laminates used to recreate the natural look of teeth whilst also providing strength, durability and resilience comparable to that of natural tooth enamel.  Being so ultra-thin, tooth preparation is often minimal.  Its aesthetic qualities and durability make it the material of choice for minor alignment modifications, tooth shape/size changes and in particular for long lasting colour alterations especially whittening procedures.

  • Indications:   *Porcelain veneers are a very successful option for discoloured teeth.   *It is a good choice for fractured teeth, lengthening teeth, gaps between teeth and reshaping and recontouring teeth,    *it provides, in some cases, an excellent alternative to long complicated orthodontic treatment where the tooth position and shape is compromised,   *For some people, superficial stains do not respond well to tooth whitening or bleaching techniques. In these situations, a porcelain veneer may be the best option.

In the example shown here the patient initially came for an orthodontic consultation.  However, after examination and a deeper understanding of her needs we adised on a full mouth whitening procedure followed by four porcelain veneers for her front teeth.  In this way we were able to align and improve the proportions of her four front teeth without the need for orthodontic intervention.  A great smile was achieved within a month.

  • Whitening, or "tooth bleaching", is the most common cosmetic dental procedure.

  • Bonding is a process in which an enamel-like dental composite material is applied to a tooth's surface, sculpted into shape, hardened and then polished.

  • Dental bridges are false teeth which are fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in areas left by missing teeth.

  • Dental Implants are prosthetic replacements for missing teeth.

  • Gum lift is a cosmetic dental procedure that raises and sculpts the gum line.
